educational offer intended for the nursery, primary and secondary schools

 
Permanent exhibition

Visits are organized for the children of the nursery school, the pupils of the primary school and the students of the secondary school. In both museums the visits are adapted to the age of the children.

Rounds can be focussed on a topic: hygiene, technique, local history, industrial archeology, specific industries and their interest for the development of the town. 

For the pupils of the primary school there is an exploration tour of the museum.

For the pupils of the primary school one can manufacture a brush or a shoe which can be attached on the pen-case. 

For the children of the nursery school the visit is done using a tale or of a song and there is an exploration round during which one wants to emphasize basic concepts (forms, colours, perceptions). Duration of the visit: 1 hour.

Manufacture of a small brush or a small shoe: 1 €, duration: half an hour.

For the pupils from 12 to 14 years: visit the protected steam engine with experiments to carry out oneself in connection with electricity; as a complement of the technology lessons, electricity and mechanics, science and history.
Duration: 2 hours

Tariffs:
Entrance fee : 1 € by pupil
Accompanied by a guide: 20 € for a group.

Occasional exhibitions during the school year 2005-2006
from September 10 till November 26   2005: the power of the steam
Educational program for 12 to 14 years old.
Duration : 2 hours, free
from March 11 till May 27: Memento’s  – Marga

Workshop for the last two years of primary school and the first two years of  secondary school in addition to the visit of the works of art. The artist works with organic matter to create images, "relic shrines" and sculptures. She is very familiar with materials of animal or plant origin and so is the museum.

Duration: an hour and a half, price 2 € per pupil

Occasional exhibitions during the school year 2006-2007
from September 10 till November 25: Brushes. Painting techniques.

A chance unheard of for all the schools that teach painting and painting techniques enabling their students to enrich their knowledge. Which hair is used in the big and small brushes? Have the techniques to manufacture brushes changed today? Which brush is appropriate for which technique?
